About
Social Media has undoubtedly changed the social movement landscape, however many grassroots organisations lack the resource and understanding to reach prospective campaigners on these platforms. These tailored workshops provide practical guidance on how to enhance your social media presence, with consideration for capacity limitations and ethical concerns.
Workshop Intentions
- Identifying your audience and social media goals
- The uses, features, and functionality of leading social media platforms
- How to create, edit, and post engaging content
This workshop can be delivered as a full or half-day session, though shorter focus sessions are also available on request.
FAQs
Who is this workshop aimed towards?
This workshop is aimed towards progressive campaigns and organisations, such as charities, social justice groups, and student societies/unions.
Why should you hire a freelance educator?
As a freelance educator I am accountable to myself and my community, rather than a charitable organisation or scheme. This gives me the freedom to develop and deliver content that more candidly reflects the issues currently facing the social media landscape, including my own personal stories. I am not limited by charity guidelines, Key Performance Indicators, or respectability politics.
Another advantage of this is the ability to keep my session costs comparatively low, as I am only funding myself. All charges go straight back into my work or living costs, helping to finance my advocacy.
Testimonials
We had a really enjoyable and informative day with Eddy! They’re a skilled facilitator and confident with explaining social media in an accessible and engaging way. They didn’t assume prior knowledge but skillfully gathered what knowledge we already had and worked from there. The training was personalised to our organisation, which helped us to think practically about how we can implement our learning. We all now feel much more confident on the benefits of different social media platforms and how we can use them more effectively.
